All I need is a Grand Piano ...

As if  8,000 blinking lights on a 14 foot tree wasn't enough, I continued my extravaganza of holiday excess by adding several hundred glass ornaments and ribbon of gold lame.  I may be wrong, but I believe that I have reincarnated Liberace as the Christmas Tree in my living room.

THIS IS YOUR TREE???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  OMG!! I am astonished!!  If you can email me a copy of this picture I'd like to post it.  I won't be home for Christmas so it can be MY tree too, if you don't mind.  Mrs. L

Yes, 8,000, I counted.  Amazing, isn't it?

Safety note here folks!  We knew where the tree was going to go in the house, we knew that I use a garish number of lights (but the tree in the window does look great from the road, heck it looks great from the stop which is a quarter mile away -- I digress) We wired "tree corner" to handle that many lights.  Do not put more lights on your tree than you wiring can handle.

And yes Mrs. L.  I would be delighted to send you one of my truly bad photographs of my tree.  You won't be home for Christmas?  Isn't there a song by that name?  There should be ...  "I won't be home for Christmaaaaaas" I can hear it now.  Going somewhere interesting?  Post it in your journal?

"Do not add more lights than your wiring can handle..."  How 'bout "do not add more ornaments and lights than your DOGS can handle?"  ROFL!  Have they discovered the plumbing, yet?  Or are they content to eat the ornaments and unstring the lights?  Brave enough to string popcorn on Liberace`?  <chortle>

8000??? Oh My God!  My husband complains because I put up 800 lights and the tree ends up falling over every year!  Gorgeous tree Mary!  Great job and nice to see you back here :-)
