journal Going To The Grocery Store.........

Going To The Grocery Store......... :

A gem from the journal written by Southern Mush (mushie to me) - great read!

My comment on that entry and other stuff ...

Little Giant food store!  Love it!  Seaweed in a jar?  Reminds me of Central Market in Austin, Texas -- wonderful, strange, exciting store!!

I love groceries with personality (and selection).  Anybody, your favorite place to shop for groceries?

Hello again Mary........

Once again I took another trip to Kroger and spent some money actually a lot. I went from aisle to aisle picking up many things that I like. My nieces had a ball getting what they want. Going to the grocery store is turning into a huge amount of fun to me. I got all kinds of junk food today..........

I can't wait to hear another one of your audio entries..........Take care dear friend.

Grocery stores- in particular, Winn-Dixie- are evil abominations.  Espeically my local BFE W-D.  Their prices are a good 30-40% HIGHER than the W-D's in the "city".  They're even higher than the Food Lion in the next shopping center to the north, and theirs are bad enough.  Both of them are much higher than the stores in the city.  They're gouging those of us who choose to live in BFE,  A) because they know most of us don't care to drive 70 or so miles round trip to a DECENT grocery store, and B) they only have each other to compete with.  $4.99 for an ON SALE 12 pack of Pepsi?  $4.29 for  a freakin' gallon of milk that, at the same grocery stores in Jacksonville is (on the high side) $3.49??

Personally I'm VERY glad Winn Dixie is in bankruptcy- and I hope they go under completely.  They've brought it on themselves.
